Arizona Snowbowl and Sunrise Park Resort are two popular destinations for snowboarding in the state. Sunrise Park Resort is home to 65 runs that span 800 acres of useable terrain. The eastern Arizona park, which the White Mountain Apache Tribe owns, offers beginner to advanced runs as well as an area to practice tricks off of metal rails and a half pipe. In the evenings, the venue keeps 80 acres of land open for night skiing. The mountain reaches a summit of 11,100 feet and has a vertical drop of 1,800 feet.
Situated in close proximity to Flagstaff, Arizona Snowbowl is slightly smaller than Sunrise. The 777 acres of useable land consists of three terrain parks and 40 runs. The longest run spans two miles. Beginner to advanced runs are available to visitors on the 11,500-foot mountain. The vertical drop is 2,300 feet.
