Jason Altzman has served as principal of Aero Marketing Group (AeroMKG.com) for more than a decade. Through this firm, Jason Altzman and his team work with automotive and motorsports companies to provide innovation marketing solutions. Outside of work, he enjoys reading and considers Ben Mezrich as among his favorite authors.

Recently, Ben Mezrich celebrated the release of his new book, Charlie Numbers and the Man in the Moon, which is the first that he has coauthored with his wife, Tonya. This marks his first children’s book in several years and seems slated for the bestseller list with a plan already in place to turn it into a television show.

The new book serves as a follow-up to Mezrich’s Bringing Down the Mouse. Charlie Numbers follows a talented mathematician enlisted to track the theft of a box of moonrocks; he and his friends enter the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum’s paper airplane contest undercover to learn more about the thief. As he moves closer to the truth, Charlie begins to realize that he may have been pulled into a story that is much larger than stolen moonrocks.

Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Jason Altzman guides a performance-focused team of automotive and motorsports marketing professionals as principal of Aero Marketing Group. An avid reader, Jason Altzman enjoys the works of Ben Mezrich, who is known for books such as The 37th Parallel and The Accidental Billionaires.

Mezrich’s latest book, Woolly, continuously combines narrative nonfiction with the elements of a thriller in providing insight into efforts of young scientists at a Harvard University genetic labs to sequence DNA taken from a frozen woolly mammoth found in Siberia. Portions of the DNA sequence were spliced into the DNA of an elephant, with the aim of creating an embryo that could bring the woolly mammoth back from extinction.

The broader goal of the research is to create capacities for reintroducing species that have long gone extinct and help to reverse the negative effects of human activity on wildlife populations and genetic diversity. Mezrich's lengthy work combines the nail-biting saga of contemporary researchers with expositions on past history that vividly recreate the world the woolly mammoth once inhabited.

Jason Altzman works at Aero Marketing Group as the managing principal, where he oversees many of AMG’s day-to-day operations. When he is not working, Jason Altzman enjoys reading anything by author Ben Mezrich.

Although Ben Mezrich’s new book, Woolly: The True Story of the De-Extinction of One of History’s Most Iconic Creatures, will not come out until mid-2017, Fox and Temple Hill are already working on developing the book into a film.

Mezrich’s book tells the story of Harvard University’s George Church, who in 2015 successfully extracted woolly mammoth DNA and paired it with that of a modern elephant. While the breakthrough did not bring the long-extinct creatures back to life, it marks a crucial step in the process. The merger marked the first time mammoth DNA was functional and active in roughly 4,000 years.

Ben Mezrich is no stranger to movie deals. His books Bringing Down the House and The Accidental Billionaires were adapted into the films 21 and The Social Network, respectively.

Temple Hill is perhaps most well-known for producing the Maze Runner movies and the Twilight series, both adapted from books.

Jason Altzman, a managing principal with Phoenix, Arizona’s Aero Marketing Group (AMG), is an avid reader. Jason Altzman is an especially big fan of New Jersey writer Ben Mezrich.

Ben Mezrich is an American author who has written a number of popular non-fiction books that have gone on to be adapted as successful motion pictures. His 2003 book Bringing Down the House told the story of several students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) who formed a gambling team that traveled to Las Vegas. The book was adapted into the 2008 movie 21, starring Kevin Spacey and Brett Ratner.

While Mezrich may be best known for Bringing Down the House, the adaptation of his 2009 work The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal was adapted into a film that gained far more critical attention than 21. The book described the origins of Facebook at Harvard, a story that attracted the attention of screenwriter Aaron Sorkin and director David Fincher. The resulting adaptation, The Social Network, starred Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield and was nominated for eight Oscars at the 2011 Academy Awards. The film took home three prizes, including Best Writing for an Adapted Screenplay.
